Whether you’ve never knit before or haven’t for a very long time, this four session class will give you a solid foundation in knitting skills. You will learn to knit, purl, cast on stitches, bind off, increase and decrease, make simple stitch patterns, weave in ends, and all the skills needed to make your first scarf, cowl, dishcloth, or hat.

You know the basics, now it's time to take your knitting to the next level. Jane will help you to learn new skills and build upon your basic knowledge of knitting. Bring a project-in-progress or start a new one with hands-on, step-by-step guidance.

Whether you’ve never held a crochet hook or have vague memories of crocheting from years ago, you’ll be able to call yourself a hooker after taking this four session class! You’ll learn how to make a chain, and the basic stitches of single, double, half double, and triple crochet. You will learn to crochet in rows and in the round. You’ll make a simple scarf or cowl, and learn how to crochet the granny square and other motifs.

In our new Skills Series we will focus on specific areas of knitting or crochet. In these one-session classes you can add to or improve your repertoire of skills to help you create the projects you want to make.
Session 1: Fixing Mistakes: Mon. Oct. 16, 5-7pm
Learning to fix mistakes is one of the biggest hurdles for new knitters, but once you have mastered the basics of knitting, fixing mistakes is easy to learn. Sally will guide you through common mistakes with lots of tips and tricks to correct them.
Session 2: All About Gauge: Mon. Nov. 13, 5-7pm
Gauge is your friend, not something to be frightened of! Sally LOVES gauge and swatches, and you will, too, after taking this class.
Session 3: Conquer Cables: Mon. Dec. 4, 5-7pm
It's true: cables just LOOK complicated! In one class you'll learn the easy twists and turns that make garments look so professional as well as beautiful.
