KNITTING 101
Whether you’ve never knit before or haven’t for a very long time, this four session class will give you a solid foundation in knitting skills. You will learn to knit, purl, cast on stitches, bind off, increase and decrease, make simple stitch patterns, weave in ends, and all the skills needed to make your first scarf, cowl, dishcloth, or hat.

CROCHET 101
Whether you’ve never held a crochet hook or have vague memories of crocheting from years ago, you’ll be able to call yourself a hooker after taking this four session class! You’ll learn how to make a chain, and the basic stitches of single, double, half double, and triple crochet. You will learn to crochet in rows and in the round. You’ll make a simple scarf or cowl, and learn how to crochet the granny square and other motifs.

PROJECT KNITTING AND CROCHET
This is a perfect class for those who want to work on their project but can’t commit to coming to class every week. Sign up for 4, 6, or 8 sessions (the more you sign up for, the less the cost!) and come ANY or EVERY Thursday to knit or crochet and get the help and support you need, and enjoy the company of your fellow crafters. There is no expiration date!

COLOR KNITTING
Learn a variety of color knitting techniques as you knit panels to create a sampler blanket. In this class we will be using the booklet “Building in Color" by Michelle Hunter. We will be using the suggested yarn, Simplicity by HiKoo. In addition to color techniques, you will learn other skills such as reading patterns and charts, slip stitches, cables, increases and decreases, and lots more!
The class will run every other week (except for more spacing because of holidays in December) for a total of 8 sessions. The $200 fee includes 24 skeins of Simplicity and the Building in Color booklet, which means the yarn is discounted and the classes are free! If you can’t make one or more of the classes, you can catch up at the next class.
Students must be able to cast on, do the knit and purl stitches, and bind off.
After signing up, please come in to choose your colors!

KNITTING 102
If you’ve mastered the knit and purl stitches, you’re ready for this class! Learn new techniques as you work on a new project. You can elect to knit a hat and learn the required skills of knitting in the round and using double pointed needles. Or bring in a project you are working on to get assistance and support. In a small class environment, we can learn from each other as we increase our own knowledge and skills.
Prerequisites: Must be able to knit and purl.

KNIT SOCKS!
Hand knit socks are the most comfortable socks you’ll ever wear AND make the best gift for your favorite feet! You will learn how to knit socks from the top down, turn the heel, and finish a shaped toe. You’ll gasp as a complete sock falls off your needles with your last stitch!

SOPHIE SCARF
If you can do the knit stitch, you can make one of most popular scarf patterns EVER! Whip out all your holiday gifts while you learn a few new skills. You can use any yarn you like.

KNIT HATS!
Hand knit hats are the perfect project once you’ve mastered the basics of knitting. A hat project is quick, portable, and results in a wonderful gift or hat for yourself. You’ll learn how to knit in the round on circular needles, use double pointed needles, decrease, and follow a pattern. You can knit a very simple hat, with lots of mindless, relaxing knitting, or a more complicated hat with color changes, cables, or different stitch patterns. The basic concept is the same. You will be able to finish at least one hat during the class (with knitting time at home)

FIXING MISTAKES
One of the hurdles in becoming a knitter is learning to fix mistakes. In this class you will learn how to fix many of the common ones, like dropped stitches, twisted stitches, incorrect stitch count, uneven tension, and others. You will also learn to unknit (known as “frogging”) to correct errors in previous stitches or rows. Become a more confident knitters with these new skills!
