Your New Addiction: Noro coasters

Continuing with the theme of household knit items like our adorable Starfish Cloth project, I couldn't resist the stunning self-striping yarn Kibou by Noro (especially color 9). I found this simple Mitered Coaster Pattern on Ravelry and got knitting... and quickly found myself addicted to this super easy and satisfying pattern. I'd time myself knitting a coaster, and try to break that record. I'd bet myself how many colored stripes would make it into each coaster (yes, I have a lot of time on my hands lately). I decided to knit batches of four coasters, with the intent to gift them someday as easy hostess gifts, stocking stuffers, housewarming presents, etc. I was delighted to find that one ball of Kibou yielded EXACTLY SIXTEEN coasters! I've already gifted two sets of them. Since no two are alike, I find that they go with everything, and work great as coasters for hot or cold drinks.
