Elizabeth Zimmerman was a British born knitting teacher and designer. She revolutionized the modern practice of knitting through her books and instructional series on American public television. One of her most well known patterns is the Baby Surprise Jacket (there is also an adult version). Knit entirely in garter stitch (all knitting, no purling), it doesn’t seem like it will become a sweater until the very end.
