INTRO TO TUNISIAN CROCHET

Ever wonder what Tunisian crochet is but don’t know where to start?  In this class Tara will teach you the basic foundational skills to help you start your Tunisian crochet journey.  You will learn how to pick up stitches through the back loops, the Tunisian simple stitch forward pass, the Tunisian simple stitch return pass, as well as bind off.  We will also start a “mug rug” (https://desamourdesigns.com/the-tunisian-mug-rug-crochet-pattern/) project for you to take home.  So what have you got to lose?  Take this class to tackle a new skill and make a beautiful handmade project.

MAKE A SUMMER BAG

Knitters and crocheters love bags…we can never have enough! In this class you
will knit and or crochet one or more bags to add to your collection, and learn
some new techniques along the way.
Here are a few options: 

Girlfriend Market Bag

We have 2 samples of this versatile knitted bag at the shop made with different
yarns. You’ll learn how to start a project with a square using double pointed needles. Once yo u get past thebeginning/bottom of the bag, the rest is a snap! 

Mini Market Bag

This cute knit bag is perfect for beginners or for an easy mindless and FAST project! Lots of great colors in Loopy Mango’s Big Cotton to choose from. 

Crocheted Tote 

This adorable bag is made with just 13 squares! Use different colors or just one color of
a self-striping yarn and create your own unique bag to take to the beach or hold your project. Learn or practice making crocheted motifs which can be used for blankets and  sweaters as well as bags.

This class is for those who are already comfortable with basic knitting or crochet.

INTRO TO SPINNING



Have you been to the NY Sheep & Wool Festival in Rhinebeck? Are you curious about what people do with those fluffy bags of fleece and colorful fiber braids? Are you fascinated by the process of turning fiber into yarn? Then this class is for you!

You will learn about various methods of fiber preparation and how to spin on different types of spinning wheels, both traditional and electric, as well as on a drop spindle.

$275 (materials included)

KNITTING 101

Whether you’ve never knit before or haven’t for a very long time, this four session class will give you a solid foundation in knitting skills.  You will learn to knit, purl, cast on stitches, bind off, increase and decrease, make simple stitch patterns, weave in ends, and all the skills needed to make your first scarf, cowl, dishcloth, or hat. 

$125 (yarn and needles are included)

CROCHET 101



Whether you’ve never held a crochet hook or have vague memories of crocheting from years ago, you’ll be able to call yourself a hooker after taking this four session class!  You’ll learn how to make a chain, and the basic stitches of single, double, half double, and triple crochet.  You will learn to crochet in rows and in the round.  You’ll make a simple scarf or cowl, and learn how to crochet the granny square and other motifs. 

$125 (yarn and hook included)

Session 2: Thursdays, June 27, July 11, 18 & 25: 4-5:30pm 



KNIT THE EMOTIONAL SUPPORT CHICKEN

We can’t all have an emotional support dog to accompany us on plane trips but we can take an emotional support chicken with us! Knit this captivating creature that has taken the knitting world by storm and enjoy cuddle time with a chicken. You will learn, or practice, short rows, cable cast on, and a few other techniques.


Students must be comfortable with casting on, and the knit stitch.
